I've been working on this product for a while, and it's finally ready. Pictured below is a replacement back for an Ipod touch (16GB version) that looks like it has been gold plated. In fact it has been put through a process knows as PVD and coated with an ultra hard material called titanium nitride. The PVD process is done at several hundred degrees and in vacuum and bonds this ultra hard material onto the surface of the metal. The result is an amazing looking finish that won't scratch.

    hakk79's review:

Amazing, I love it. It looks pretty good, and since it does not scratch that makes it even better. The gold color completes it and the process of making it is rigerous but in the end, makes the iPod touch look Great!

    So, I give this a 10 out of 10.

When I said review, I actually meant receive a free sample to install on your ipod touch. I appreciate the positive comments based on the pic though.

well, the review piece will be free to whoever gets it. The actually selling price I'm not sure off yet, although it is going to be around the $50 mark. The process to put this coating on is expensive, and consider the money some people charge for gold plated ipods. This looks as good as gold if not better and will look as good as new for as long as you have it. I've never seen the point of gold plating for ipods as gold is even more prone to getting scratched than stainless steel. I'd be mad if I spent a fortune on a gold plated one only for ot to get scuffed up in a few weeks.
