Jailbreak it. It's nearly impossible to truly BRICK your iPod (only if you delete some important folders or other stuff you're not supposed to do). However, delete Ziphone and use iLiberty, it has a higher success rate and is less risky than Ziphone.

I will PM you a link for all my stuff and a guide. Not one person I have helped or who has used it has had any issues. It's your call to give it a try and you can always restore. Kepp in mind that 2.0 firmware will be out in a couple weeks and we have yet to see what that will bring as far as jailbreaking.

I'm sure Ziphone will work for you, it just didn't for me, and hasn't for many other people, so I always recommend iLiberty.

aww man yeah i heard that 2.0 is comming out
    but i cant wait.

    but i have a question
if i jailbreak the waranty goes away right,
if i force restore if something (physically) goes wrong
can i always send it in to apple without them knowing it was jailbroken!?!?

Yes. After you restore, there is no longer any sign of a jailbreak.

I don't know about Ziphone, but I didn't restore with iLiberty first and it worked fine. Good Luck!
