i recently upgraded my ipod touch 2g 8gb to ios4, but now, my apps constantly crash, ( like all the time!!!) it is extremeley slow and choppy, and crashes on native apps aswell. it has frozen several times( to the point where the power and home button do nothing) for several minutes on several occasions.i think it may be the new software on an old device? not sure. i want to know how and if i can downgrade to 3.1.3 without jailbreaking.

You CAN downgrade to 3.1.2 in dfu mode after you edit your hosts file though.

I was having some similar problems with the same device. I did a factory restore and it fixed all the problems I have had.

Agreed, I have had the same issues.
To anyone reading this and considering upgrading to ios4 and jailbreaking, don't bother, 3.1.2/3 is way stabler and way better.
