okay, so first off i love my itouch. i got a few days ago and after some...fiddling with itunes i finally got everything working on my system. i run xp64. so today i picked up the update for autobot and it basically died on me. it shows the USB connect to itunes logo when i turn it on and itunes says it needs to be restored.

i hit restore and windows gives me the signal has been unplugged and it turns off.

any idea how i can fix this?

Put it in DFU mode and restore to a stock IPSW.

When the USB Connect to iTunes symbol appears, that actually IS DFU mode. Connect it to iTunes and it will say "This iPod needs to be restored before it can be used."
