    Whats up yall,

I am so close to geting an Ipod Touch but I have a few questions...

How is it for surfing the web? Is the screen size and the zoom features good enough for surfing?

Is it a pain that it does not show Flash? What about sites that have a lot of Java script?

My Mp3 collection totals about 4 gigs...half of that I never listen to anyway.
Do you think and 8 gig iPod touch is adequate? I can barley afford the 8 gig as it is.. :-(

Besides the mp3 play aspects is the iPod touch more of a gaming system, web surfing system?

Should I wait for the 3rd gen Touch? Ever hear that question before?

And finally, should I just get myself a netbook?

Mobile Safari is the best mobile web browser you'll get to use, it's very slick and easy to browse with.

I suppose no flash is only a pain if you frequently visit flash based websites, but I personally find flash based websites very annoying. JavaScript works fine.

1GB of the iPod Touch goes to the OS, so you're actually left with 7GB. Add your music collection, and we're down to 3GB. If you use a lot of apps, you might get that down to 2.5GB. 8GB sounds good if that's the only one you can afford.

Apps make the iPod more like a mobile computer. Jailbreaking lets you claim even more power, such as theming and GPS (with an add-on).

As for waiting for a third-gen iPod...that's a tough one...if I was patient, I would wait...else, just go for it.

Either version is worth buying, and you can also use Videohamster for certain sites and the internet is fast for wifi.

    Hello there,

    Good
    Yes
    No
    They are usually fine
This amount should be fine unless you want videos or a ton of apps.
Used to be web surfing, but now with the appstore, it has turned gaming
Thats a personal choice if you have the willpower to wait.
You mean instead of an ipod? No.

    Hahahaha, straight-to-the-point answers eh, ipodk88...

Anyway, 8GB is seriously insufficient if you have loads of music, video, and apps (particularly games)... I'm using a 16GB touch and at this moment, the memory space is quite alright for my 800+ songs (no videos, btw

), seven games, and numerous other iTunes-downloaded apps...

As for Internet surfing, the touch's screen makes for excellent mobile web browsing... Despite the no-Flash feature, like what pss mentioned, the Safari browser is one of the best mobile Internet apps around... And if you have problems reading websites displayed on the portrait screen, the touch can be flipped over for a better landscape view instead (courtesy of the built-in accelerometer)...

Speaking of the 3G iPod touch, despite the supposedly better features as compared with the present 2G, I heard from forumers that it is not possible to jailbreak the new one (I may be wrong though, lol)... That's where the 2G model still has the upper hand!

    It's possible to jailbreak them.
It's just likely they won't be able to be jailbroken right when they're released.
