Ugh. Every 3 or 4 times I open installer, it refreshes sources + takes like 5min!

Any solutions? I havent really installed any recent packages lately, so I have idea what is causing this to happen (unless it is normal?)

It does that so it can see if there are any new packages.

it all depends on how many sources you have. I hav alot of sources so it takes me about 5 mins as well, but when i delete some of them its much quicker when it checks for updates.

it takes quite a while if you have a lot of sources. takes a few minutes for me too. its pretty annoying but hey, at least you get some awesome apps.

    Mine does take that long.

But this is only caused by your sources. If you have a lot of sources, and these sources are crammed with different files and applications, your installer will take a longer time to refresh.

Remove some sources if you want to lower the time.

EDIT: Wow, we all posted at the same time.

You probably have a lot of sources so it takes a long time...

Nullsoft (the creators of installer) are currently trying to find a workaround for long refresh times. In the mean time, you can delete some sources you dont use

lol the thread went from like 3 posts to 9 in like a second xD but yeah, i had blazes stuff in there which included all the laguages stuff, and that took like 10 min just to remove the app, so Im guess thats where most of my lag came from.

and it makes sense that it all depends on how many sources i have
