So I recently decided to but Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy onto my PS3, but, as expected, it didn't work out. I have already partitioned my PS3 with OtherOS and burned Ubuntu onto a disc (I'm sure it is the one meant for the PS3, since it was on the site I used) and popped it into the PS3, and then came to the Kbooter which it is supposed to. Except instead of just prompting me to install, I got this message: (not my picture, but the same error) And I have no idea how to get it to find rootfs. If anyone could help, that would be awesome! Thanks.
Don't want to sound silly... but have you checked with the http://ubuntuforums.org/ people? They are a great help - the level of free service received from them beats any commercial contract you will ever pay for... but you probably know that, just wanted to make sure...?
Yeah I checked out their forums and tried all their tips to the problem, but none of em worked =/ I'll give it another look though, thanks.
oh sorry lol, i was on my ipod last night, lol, what i meant was what are the advantages of putting ubuntu on your ps3, i heard about it, but i dont see anything different, lol
It boots Linux onto your PS3, so it could be like a computer basically. (Linux is an open source operating system I tried that when I first got the error, nothing happened =/
