I'm trying to install 8.10 Ubuntu on a very, very old Toshiba Satelite laptop. It has 512mb of RAM. And every time that I try to install or "try" Ubuntu from the LiveCD, the loading screen shows and then a couple of "write" errors scroll through in terminal and then it brings me to a terminal user interface. Just the terminal, fullscreen. Any ideas?

Posting the exact error would be a lot more helpful...

I was trying but it scrolled really fast and then came up with the name@computer with the blinking underscore... And the lines above were unreadable because the terminal help was above the name@computer thing.
