Ubuntu 10.04 Problem

    Ok so Installed the update on my toshiba a40 then my sceen stays black i have tryed the nomodest and it doesnt work anyone know why?

    Ok so I was on 9.10 and it told me 10.04 update was available so I was like ok ill do it and i left my comp on updateing it told me to restart then instantly it doesnt work. It updated fine like the icons were changing and stuff but it doesnt work the display

    Just get the 10.04 disc, I never update online. Always get the disc.

    Yeah updating always screws it up for me. I always use the disc.

    I tried the disc the same results happen

    Weird. That happened to me when I used the disc for 10.04. I updated online, and it worked.

    I used Network update and it work perfect on a my Toshiba laptop.

    Dang its in perfect condition Lol and its not very old i guess its a a40 but ill wait till the new release i guess

    The GRUB bootloader failed as a result of
    automatic partitioning during my install process.
    Manual partitioning solved this problem.
    just my $0.02
