I usually do all the jailbreaking on my Windows XP where I have an older version of itunes which is 8.2. I need itunes 9.2 in order to activate my new phone. So I did that on my Vista. Now my question is since I need iTunes 9.2 or later to use with the iPhone 4 how do I go about tranfering my backups from my XP to Vista and also all of my apps?

I was thinking of writing everything in this folder to a DVD and then putting it on my Vista which should take care of the backups:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Ripply\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

As for the Apps would simply going up in iTunes and clicking File and either export library or burn library to CD or DVD work?

The apps are usually stored under Music/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications. Correct me if I'm wrong. But put the .ipa files on your new computer and hit File>Add to library and add the apps. As long as your account is the same or registered they will sync fine.
