    Ok um.
My friend has a Mac and he has a ipod touch and a iphone, so now he gave me his ipod touch as a present and he had bought heaps of songs and bought heaps of apps.

Now how do i sync HIS ipod touch which is not mine onto MY iTunes Library on MY PC ?

Because to do so would mean i would have to erase and sync, i have already backed up the music using total command and the tpot thing BUT the most important thing i want to keep is the apps.

If i erase and sync, would i be able to get back the paid apps ?
And also i would be using MY iTunes account on my PC.

    Thanks.

you should transfer the apps first into your PC.

    before you sync.

Unless you have his account registered to your itunes you can not keep his paid apps and music.

    1. First transfer all media you wish to keep from the iPod to the computer.
    2. Then restore iPod.
    3. When restore is complete, click set up as new iPod and sync from there.
NOTE: You can't keep the apps unless your computer is authorized in the same account as the one where the apps were purchased. The same applies with all other content containing DRM.
    DRM Includes:
Music purchased from iTunes that is not iTunes plus, other music (amazon,cd's, ect. does not count)
    Movies from iTunes
    Games and Apps
    Audiobooks
    TV Shows
    Music Videos
And any other content containing DRM.

    DRM: Digital Rights Management

DOn't waste your time doing a restore. Just sync it. And that transfer apps thing won;t work without his account user name and password

Jp is correct: He doesnt need to restore. Restoring will do nothing for him. he cant use the apps unless he uses his friends itunes account and pw.

Why do you want to restore? Scroll back up and follow Dashwood's advice about tranferring apps from ipod back to pc. This will rebuild your itunes library on your pc with his apps. Then just sync on your pc with his account on itunes.
