    Simple solution - dump Twitter! There are lots of alternatives. The best one would be to host your own Wordpress account and use news feeds to share with others.

    I think this is good. The twitter app is great and they deserve the money

    As long as the promoted tweets don't spam my twitter feed, I wouldn't mind all that much..

    Using Tweetbot, couldn't you block some keywords or just block a lot of the accounts that promote their tweets?

    never really felt the need to go beyond the official twitter client. Promoted tweets dont come up often enough to annoy me even remotely. Much better then facebook ads. But i will call your attention back to the horrendous ads placed on myspace. Never should anybody be allowed to make this mistake again.

    3rd party clients are so much better. I find the official app subpar.
