    After speculating and a few hours of goofing around, I finally figured out how to get those pixels that was stolen from us for no apparent reason. Thank Apple for giving us yet another reason to jailbreak!

    Note: If using windows, I recommend using "plist Editor for Windows". Also, if your transfering the file to windows to edit it, DON'T use iFunbox to transfer, as it actually modifies the Plist file. Try using iFile or other methods.

    Note 2: Only works for the Native camera app, I HAVE FIXED THIS AND WILL UPDATE LATER.
    Will not work in ClearCam App using the "Enhanced Settings" once its fixed however, all other apps should work (iMovie, ProHDR, TiltshiftGenerator, yada yada)

    Manual instructions below

    Go to
    Code:
    \System\Library\PrivateFrameworks\Celestrial.frame work\N81\AVCapture.plist

    There area you are looking for is
    Code:
    <key>AVCaptureMode_PhotoCapture</key>

    you will notice
    Code:
    <string>Back Facing 1MP Photo</string>
    beneath this is what needs to be edited
    go to line 947 which says
    Code:
    <key>Width</key>
    <integer>960</integer>
    </dict>
    and change it to 1280 like this
    Code:
    <key>Width</key>
    <integer>1280</integer>
    </dict>
    Now scroll down about 23 lines until you see
    Code:
    <key>Sensor</key>
    <dict>
    A few lines beneath that youll agian see
    Code:
    <key>Width</key>
    <integer>960</integer>
    </dict>
    change it to look like this
    Code:
    <key>Width</key>
    <integer>1280</integer>
    </dict>

    Lastly, go back upwards to line 962 (964 if you applied the HDR tweak manually) and where it says
    Code:
    <key>Preview</key>
    <dict>
    <key>Height</key>
    <integer>640</integer>
    just change 640 to 540 and your finished, just save and reboot.

    When your taking a picture you can double tap the screen, the preview screen will zoom out so you can see the whole picture, just like in Movie mode

    I suggest keeping a copy of the original just incase you'd ever want to go back.

    Proof Below

    1280x720

    only tested on ipod touch 4g, I have no idea about any other device. Going to talk to Coentje44 and see if maybe he can include this in his tweak thats on cydia or maybe even make a seperate tweak for winterboard

    Amazing..... if you can get this integrated into the HDR fix as you suggest I will be a very happy chap!

    On another note, can I install the cydia app fix for the HDR after having manually altered the plist file to enable it?

    hm, not sure how the winterboard / cydia tweak works, but if it replaces the original file, then I'd imagine you'd install that first, then modify it following the instructions here

    Worked like a charm. You should talk with Coentje44 and make a HDR and 720p pictures for iPt4 cydia package.

    Thanks mate!
