ive followed the directions for a third party video cable, but only the audio comes out. Not the video. Is there any way to bypass this other than buying the official cable?

first of all, does ur input go in your ipod headphone jack or the charger jack? because for video it has to be in the charger jack. and 2: i think the third party cables have to be put in a different order into your tv. eg. yellow in white, red in yellow, etc something like that

    edit:
    hm guess not.

    Hi,
have you changed the iapd with the patched one, which will make it work with 3rd party cable?

    Hi,
this is the daemon, that manage the communication with accessories.

If you not patch it, it will only work with Apple-authorized acessories.

    So long,

Isn't there an ON and OFF switch in the Settings app?

that switch is for compatible cables

incompatible ones will have to be enabled by patching the iapd file in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/IAP.framework/Support/

with a patched file that, for apple copyright reasons, i cannot post on this forum.
