About 2 months ago, I had bought an AV cable from Ebay (this is not the one sold by Apple and cost me $15 against $50 by Apple). The firmware I was using was 1.1.5. It was working good for these 2 months and I was able to view my movies on my television set.

Last night, I did an update to my ipod Touch with firmware 2.2 and now, I realize that my AV cable no longer works. Is there a way for me to revert my update or at least be able to utilize my AV cable? I hate spending $50 to buy an AV cable. Please suggest.

To downgrade your firmware, you need hold down shift and click the restore button and choose a previous firmware file (ends in .ipsw).

This is how i got the apple one for only $40. kina complicated but it comes from them directly and you pwn them outa $10. i think thats what your problem is. i think only the Apple one works on all firmwares.

sorry to say it doesn't. Got mine from Deal Extreme, worked before the 2.2 update now the picture appears on my tv for a few seconds then the ipod stops playing and reverts back to the video menu. Are apple allowed to do this? Hmmm.

Where are all the IPOD programmers gone? Don't they have a fix to allow aftermarket video cables to work?

That sucks, but I was pissed when my old video iPod video cable wouldn't work.... I spent $$ on that one a few years ago.
