    Hi,

My name is Jorden Kent and, together with a friend, I am starting a website. The primary focus of the website is to provide clear and simple video tutorials which will initially focus on the iPod touch, iPhone and popular software on both the mac and PC. Between us, we have all four touch devices devices.

I'm not posting here to get hits to my site (just to prove it, i'm not going to post the link) but instead to ask what everybody finds difficult with their touch devices or software in general. We have some ideas, however we would like to know what you guys would like to know through clear and concise video tutorials.

    thanks,

    kenty

Heyy dude. Like the idea. Can you please PM me the link or something. Btw, I live in Australia too, and am glad to see that finally some Australian sites are being launched for the iPods.

    Some problems/difficulties:

DFU - ing (for the people who dont know how to use the 'Search' feature) :Llol
    Jailbreaking
General problems with solutions - eg. iPod wont boot. etc.

So yea if you could PM me the link mate, it'd be awesome. Thanx.

    I'd like to see:
    • someone disassemble and reassemble each and every version of the iPhone and iPod Touch
    • tests on the batteries to show their tolerances
    • how to DIY fix cracked screens/dead com boars and connectors/waterdamged devices
    • EXCELLENT software and hardware reviews (half a$$ed poor quality non-downloadable video reviews need not apply)
    • custom-modded devices
    • A weekly/monthly video magazine/video podcast.

    Ok, thanks for your help.

Would love to do 'EVERYTHING' that you say, studangerous, but disassembling my 3G iPhone would almost make me cry, but i'd be more than happy to try it out on my 1st gen touch. Bocky, my friend has a spare 2G phone where the screen doesn't work, that might make an interesting video on how to replace the screen. Having said that, if the site does well enough to begin with, i'm sure that we could afford to buy some new devices from ebay and tear appart.

Btw, Limbo11, what part of Australia are you from?

just make some good quality videos - I'm sure most of what you'll do is on youtube already - i.e. that's the standard you have to beat to make it a worthwhile effort...

yeah, quality is what we are going for. we bought a good quality microphone so the sound should be good. Also, we are using a lot of screen-capture stuff so that you dont have to deal with shaky hand-cam videos

I'm from Adelaide. Podcast seems like a good idea, but probably not in the short-term
