    Okay. In this Tutorial i'm gonna show you how to unite your Music and Videos -app into the iPhone iPod.app. This only takes Basic skills. (iOS 4)

    What will you need?
    - Something to access your iDevice.
    -iPhone Browser for example.
    - You can also use a SCP client.

    - A program to edit "*.plist" files.
    - iPod Robot's Plist Editor
    - Editor | Notepad | Notepad++
    (I recomend you the plist editor or notepad++ - else it will be
    very difficult)

    - 10-20 Minutes. As we don't want to rush and make mistakes.

    Getting started

    First of all SSH or Browse into your iDevice.

    Done.

    Now find System and click on it. You should now see a Folder called "Library" click on it too.

    Done.

    This folder now is huge. Try to find another folder in it, called "CoreServices". It should be close to the top of the folder. When you found it, click on it.

    Done.

    Okay. Now find a folder called "Springboard.app" - Click on it. We are where we want to be, so no need to look for more folders.

    As Springboard.app is really big, look for a file called: "N72AP.plist" on iOS 4. When you found it, right click on it and Save it on your Desktop as: "N72AP.plist"

    This File is ESSENTIAL(!!!) for your iDevice to work, so save another copy somewhere on your Hard Drive as an Backup.

    Uniting the Apps

    So. Open your "*.plist" editing program. In my case this is Notepad++

    Please Register or Log in to view images

    On the Top-Bar press on "File" then "Open" - Select your "N72AP.plist" and Open it.

    Find the text that is between
    Code:
    <key>capabilities</key>
    	<dict>
    (Line 5 and 6) and
    Code:
    	</dict>
    	<key>iconState</key>
    	<dict>
    (Line 50, 51 and 52).

    Now look for
    Code:
    		<key>device-name</key>
    		<string>iPod</string>
    (Line 15 and 16) Behind that you will now start a new line with "Enter"

    In there now you will want to write "<key>unified-ipod</key>" (Without the "")and again start a new line with "Enter"

    Please Register or Log in to view images

    And in there, you will write "<true/>" (Without the "") - "true" means that this feature will load at start!, if you set it on "false" the feature will be disabled, you don't have to delete it when you want to go back to normal, just replace "true" with "false".
    Save your File. (CTRL + S or File->Save)

    Finishing
    Select your modified "N72AP.plist" file from the desktop, and drag it into you "iPhone Browser" or SCP client window where System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app is still open. Click Yes when it asks you if you want to Overwrite the old file.

    Take your iPod and open SBSettings or Winterboard.
    Click on "Respring"
    Wait for your iDevice to come back to normal mode and enjoy!

    I don't take any credit for anything you do with your iDevice and your files. This tutorial is copyrighted. Please ask me before publishing it somewhere else or modifying it. (c)2010

    MMP Flip from Cydia causes bugs as:
    - Your Device name gets messed up.
    - Spotlight stops working correctly
    Apart from that, MMPF doesn't yet work with iOS 4

    I think you can do it with anything that can edit PLISTs. So iFile would probably work fine.

    iFile should work, but I really haven't tested it. If somebody has iFile he can test it and post the results here. Also im looking for somebody to do it with an iMac. If somebody has an Jailbroken app, could he try out doing it reverse iPod -> Music & Videos - That'd be cool.
