    Yeah, I've done this in GIMP several times and it is pretty easy. Basically flip, cut, mask. It looks really good especially if you turn the image so it is more 3d.

    Here, I whipped up a quick example of an iTunes screen shot 3d reflection.

    Why leave it alone? Is there a sign that says so? It's not like it's going to get bumped, everyone can see it regardless.:D Just messing with you, but I don't see a problem with replying...

    and to the guy ...that's nice, but in order to get a better feel, try this simple one.

    Pretty good (my creation) it is hard to add gradient to the top text and erase it perfectly.
