[TUTORIAL] How to REALLY change the name of applications

    SSH in to your iphone/ipod touch. go to /Applications and rename the .app folder to whatever you want (dont get rid of .app) and then respring and your golden! no need to mess with the info.plist ive been doing this method for like 2 months and its as easy as pie!

    and if you do choose to reboot after this make sure your ssh in still on so you can avoid the SWOD -thanks ZMOBtiger

    It's a bit more complicated for nativa apps, check Totally 1337's thread, and my reply ;D

    you should edit your first post to make sure they have SSH on reboot turned ON so that if they get the SWOD they can just change the name back through SSH instead of having to restore. Chances are, people will change something they are not suppose to using this method and somebody will come yelling at you...this way you cover yourself and prevent that from happening.

    no need to reboot..respring!! but yeah just in case


    no not really i can do it just fine with native apps
