How to change the lock screen text "Slide to unlock" on 3.0 WITHOUT Customize.. .

    You will NEED to SSH

    Steps to do this

1)Go to a text application: eg: Textedit for mac and notepad for pc.

2)Then type or cut'en paste the following:

    "AWAY_LOCK_LABEL" = "THE TEXT U WANT";"NO_SERVICE" = "carajo";

    3) Save-as and name it "SpringBoard"

    4) the file type eg: RTF or TEXT change that to ".strings" so the name should look like this: "SpringBoard.strings"

    5) make a new folder name it what ever you like eg: "Slide to Unlock"

    6) make a new folder inside that one and call it "Bundles"

    7) make a new folder inside bundles and call it "com.apple.springboard"

    8) make a new folder inside com.apple.springboard and call it "en.lproj"
    [yes i know wired name]

    9) drag the text file you made into en.lproj

your folders should look like this :

    Slide to Unlock\Bundles\ com.apple.springboard\en.lproj\SpringBoard.strings

    10) SSH the the first folder "Slide to Unlock" in /library/themes

you should she the Slide to Unlock theme in winterboard click it and bravo you have the text that you want.

if you have issue with this like not working just download my theme M&M you should see it under the same root as the folders \Bundles\ com.apple.springboard\en.lproj\SpringBoard.strings

    well done

it's best to have the strings file converted to xml first I always find if you edit the strings as is I get problems with other labels afterwards, like with the ratings popup when deleting I will have something like RATINGS_....
