    This tutorial is now obsolete. Five-Column SpringBoard has now been updated to work with firmware 3.0. Install the latest version (0.57-1) from Cydia.

    He wanted to work out some bugs, apparently. But I don't know what he's talking about, because it works perfectly for me.

    You are using the older version, that involves installing Ruby on to the device. That one is a mobile substrate hack, they are different codes. That is why, it wasn't ready for the jailbreak because the crappy beta jailbreaks messed with it. So blocking it helped your protection.

    Actually, the version I'm providing (0.55) removed dependence on Ruby.

    Worked perfectly. Only weird thing is my mobile terminal is upside-down when I start it. Pretty cool though.
