    This is a guide on how to enable native battery percentage on iOS4. I know that there already exist a guide for this, ( http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299003 ) but many are having problems with it to work.

    To get native battery percentage on your ipod touch you will need:

    - A jailbroken ipod touch
    - A Plist Editor ( For Windows: http://www.brothersoft.com/ipodrobot-plist-editor-for-windows-211507.html )
    - iFunbox (with afc2add installed in cydia) or Winscp (with openssh installed in Cydia)

    1. Use ifunbox or winscp while your device is plugged in and find N72AP.Plist in the folder /system/library/coreservices/Springboard(.app)
    2. Copy the file to your desktop (Just in case)
    3. Open Up N72AP.Plist with Plist for Windows and add this

    <key>gas-gauge-battery</key>
    <true/>

    After:

    <key>wifi</key>
    <true/>

    Then it would look like this:

    <key>wifi</key>
    <true/>
    <key>gas-gauge-battery</key>
    <true/>

    4. Save and unplug your device. After that you will need to respring or reboot (turn ipod off and then on).

    5. Go to Settings/General/Usage and turn on Battery percentage. Enjoy

    I shall test this.

    edit: confirmed. Even though the wifi string isn't there, just adding it is fine.
