    Hello.
I'm wondering if there is a way to turn auto arrange off without jailbreaking the iPod in any way?

I basically want to make my iPod to look like this:

    rather than this:

Please Register or Log in to view images

My only problem is that I can not find anywhere a method in which to turn the auto arrangement of the icons off. So everytime I try to arrange my icons in the order of the first picture, I just end up getting this:

My iPod is a 64g touch. My iTunes and iPod touch have both recieved the most recent updates if that helps in any way to solve my problem.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris.

you can install blank apps on cydia (dunno the source but its is one of sources that is inn the default repositories folder) and what it will do is install transparent apps that does nothing and you can move the icons to the 3rd and 4th row

I dont know how to disable the auto-align but do a google search im sure many have created threads on it before

Yeah, you have to jailbreak to do that. There is an app on Cydia called iBlank that you will need to download. That creates blank apps that you can move to the spots where you don't want an icon.

Hmm... maybe, but then the entire right side of your springboard is going to be full of links to blank Safari pages. It'll get annoying, trust me. Use iBlank. The blank icons don't link to anything.

There is a VERY simple solution for that. It starts with "J" and ends with "ailbreak your device with redsn0w."

P.S. Why does OP's AppStore icon have a weird blue outline?

i dont think he can jailbreak if his ipod is a 64gb one, as 3g ipod touches on 4.0 still can't be jailbroken

Oh haha, good point. I just looked at his user info for his device and it wasn't there. I didn't notice it was in the post. Well in that case, could you please supply the link for the site that you speak of 77?

Was this done in iTunes? Because when you click on an app it highlights it by giving it a blue border.
