    Turning Sidways - Not Working

Any assistance is appreciated. I've done several searches and do see anyone else having this same problem.

None of my apps that allow you to turn the touch to the side (90 Deg, Not Horizontal to the ground) (i.e. Cover flow, Safari, NES) seem to be working. I've just completed a complete restore and jailbreak and it did not fix the problem. Other programs that use the accelerometer like Labyrinth seem to be working fine.

    Any Ideas?

    Thank you!

I don't think this will solve the problem but I have had times when I thought my accelerometer was screwed but when I tried turning the ipod touch perpendicular to the ground instead of tilted at an angle, the accelerometer seems to be more responsive.

You could try that I guess.

    Fixed...

    Problem Fixed....

I was trying everything... moving every possible way and was getting a little frustrated, moving more rapidly... Dropped it!!

Now everything is back to normal.

GO Figure, it just needed a good Whack!

It sounds like the moving parts of the accelerometer had gotten stuck - and need a whack to get them moving again.

if anyone can think of another solution to the original poster's problem, i would greatly appreciate it. i also have the same problem as he did. cover flow, safari landscape doesn't work. however other things that use the accelerometer, such as shaking off the ants DO work. I tried the good ol' whack method. but that didn't solve anything.
    thank you in advance

out of extreme frustration with getting the ipod to turn into landscape, i threw it against the wall. although it has scratches and what not now, cover flow, safari etc. actually works.

MY safari horizontal and cover flow don't work. I tried banging but it doesn't work. I ran marble and when I tilt sideways in that it works.
