Sorry, I worded it wrong it wrong. See on the iPad, if you hold down the volume controller, it goes all the way down. I was wondering if you can turn that feature off.

The whole 'hold it for 2 seconds and it mutes' thing is just turning the volume the whole way down, not some 'handy feature' they built in.

He wants to turn that off essentially. I'm guessing he wants to be able to hold the volume button down without it muting.

It's just lowering the volume... Thats the whole point of it being there. I don't think there is a way to change it right now since most people find that feature useful.

click it instead of holding it. Only thing I can think of, IDK where you would even look for something to edit.

There MUST be a plist you can edit using a plist editor, but I don't think anyone's figured it out yet. I remember someone having a tutorial to a plist editor, so that you could turn the iPod 2G's keyboard clicks all the way up, because they were locked at about 20% volume even if the volume was all the way up, in some firmware update.
