Trying to put my friends ipod into DFU mode. I need help

    I didnt want to start a new thread so i posted this here http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149848&page=3
    But i realised that most people wont want to look at the back of another bricked ipod thread so im putting this into its own thread. i hope no one minds.

    Hold down home and power for 10 seconds, then home for 10
    If this doesn't help sorry, but I don't wanna read that whole thing. I'm just coin by what the title says

    Why do you only hold home and power for 7?
    You hold them both for 10 seconds, then release power and hold home for another 10-20

    Also, he might have let his iPod die while failing to boot it up, so just let it charge a bit.

    i hold powe and home for ten seconds. all i said was that after 7 my ipod beeps. so its not that.

    But i will try charging the ipod. havent considered that. thx

    Oh, I read it wrong then, my bad.

    Just do DFU Mode like you normally do, and ignore the beeps..
    Or try letting go when it beeps...

    ok so i tried charging it all night with my xbox. its the same thing. computer doesnt event say ipod not recognized. and i try putting it into dfu the same way i would with my own and nopthing happens.

    Do you have the DFU fix for Mac OS 10.5.6? Or are you on Windows?

    im on windows. and i just tried putting a different ipod(my own) into DFU after letting it die over night and it worked like it always does...
