I really think I bricked my iPod Touch. No joke....iTunes won't recognize, won't go into DFU mode, not recognized by computer, won't turn on at all.

I had just Jail Broken my 2.1.1 firmware iPod Touch 2G. I installed some Themes, and gsphone, and games, and vlc4iphone. I opened vlc3iphone, and as soon as I clicked the "roms" folder inside of vlc4iphone, my iPod's screen flashed white then turned off.

What should I do? It isn't being recognized by iTunes at all...

    ----

    What I have done already:
-Used a BRAND NEW ipod usb cable
    -Used different computer ports
    -Tried DFU mode multiple times
-Tried a couple ipod booting programs
-Tried to restart (hold sleep + home botton for 20 seconds)

    You can't brick your iPod.

You need to put it in DFU mode and run the patch (like 1clickboot) over to it to turn it on. If it fails reinstall itunes or try a different computer. Make sure LibUSB is installed still.

it may not look like it goes into dfu but even tho the screen is off it should still go into it.

I have tried OneClickBoot many times. I have tried going into DFU many times. I never once heard the sound or recognition of my ipod. What is a LOFT problem?

What do I do? Keep trying to go into DFU mode? I've tried MANY MANY TIMES (more times than it took me when I was Jail Breaking it).

I would reinstall iTunes and restart your computer and then try again. Or try a different computer. just MAke sure you are in DFU mode.

Make sure you are holding for exactly ten seconds both buttons, then release power and keep holding home.

Poop. Its not broken. The same thing happened to me. just set in in DFU mode several times, restarted my comp several times. Keep trying, itunes will recognize eventually.

If your in Windows XP go into Control Panel>System click the hardware tab, then click device manager. Once there, put ipod into DFU, then scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers (AKA: USB) expand it, then of in DFU it should say "Apple Recovery (DFU) Mobile Device" or something like that. This will tell you if your actually going into DFU mode.
