Browse iPhone Like A USB Flash Drive Without SSH

iPhone Explorer is a new software for Windows and Mac which enables you to use your iPhone and iPod touch like a USB flash drive without having to enable SSH. We all know how dangerous can enabling SSH prove to be, with all the recent worms and virus attacks which can compromise your privacy through SSH. With iPhone Explorer, you can now easily browse files and folders as if it was a normal USB flash or pen drive without having to enable SSH.

iPhone Explorer will work on all iPhone’s (2G, 3G and 3GS) and iPod touch, regardless of it being jailbroken or not. The only real advantage that jailbroken iPhone will have over non-jailbroken is the access to root directory.

Features of iPhone Explorer are as follows:
    • 100% Free iPhone browser for Mac and Windows
    • 100% Drag-and-drop interface for easily copying files to and from your iPhone
    • Create, delete and rename files and folders on your iPhone or iPod Touch
    • Works with all iPhones and iPod Touches including the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G
    • Allows you to use your iPhone as a flash drive / pen drive or put your iPhone into disk mode
    • Tiny download size
    • (Optional) If you jailbreak your iPhone you can access the real root of your iPhone and recover your address book, SMS, e-mails and more. *

Best of all, its free and available on both Windows and Mac OS X.

*If you want to access the "real" root using iPhone Explorer and you have jailbroken your iPhone using Blackra1n you must download and install "afc2add" from Cydia.

This has been around for a long long time. I use it once in a while. This is kind of in the league of PhoneView and DiskAid, which are shareware.

Looks good... If this is workable, it has to be the missing link for all iPod touches, i.e. enabling of disk mode!

So can I down load a file to the touch and then transfer it to the PC via USB cable?

Looks like Flash Drive by Readdle for $2.99 in iTunes store is the way to go.
Can tranfers files by Wi-Fi or USB. Just what I was looking for.

This still won't do. I'll be happy when there's native drive support, the iPod as a mass storage device without the need of external software.
