So, before anyone starts accusing me of not searching and so forth, I have spent many days looking around (everywhere), trying 101 different things, etc. So don't post if you don't have anything helpful. Thanks

I have an iPod Touch 2g (JB) running I *think* 3.2 firmware. Just would not turn on, after not being used for a few weeks. The computer will not recognize it, neither will iTunes (v 10). I have left it charging overnight in the computer (I have other iPod's, so I know it's my cable), as well as through the AC wall outlet. DFU will not work, reguardless what I try. I have also attempted to do a re-jailbreak to see if redsn0w or another would fix it, but no luck.

    Any *good* suggestions?

Maybe you completed 500 Charging and Discharging processes? (I have seen people who did so)

Just tried Spirit, no joy. It's as if I'm plugging in nothing; yet all other iPod's are recognized.

I have this problem with an iPod nano 3G.

Have you completely drained the battery, then charged?

Anyway, try another PC. When I first got my iPod it would not be recognized by iTunes, other iPods worked, but my iPt didn't. So, I spent hours on the line with Apple, and eventually tried another PC, worked like a charm.

I have two PC's and a laptop, nothing on all. No way to tell if battery is completely dead, due to nothing responsive on it. It's been sitting for a couple weeks prior to use, so I'm assuming it should have been dead before I tried charging.

I have a shuffle (2g) that died on me as well; left it alone for a few months, plugged it in, and now works like a charm (few days ago this was now). But with this one, I get nothing.

    It's jailbroken correct?
If it's not, take it to Apple.

It sounds like a hardware defect.

It's JB, yea. Talked to Apple, they basically said "sucks to be you". With the amount of money they said it would cost to ship it, repair it and so on, for $20 more, I can buy a new model... didn't think it was worth the repair job on their end.

Well, if it's pooched, it's pooched. Thanks.

And for all those posts that say there is no way to actually brick the iPod Touch..

Do you mind sending it to me?

I like taking things apart and voiding warranties.

If i get it to work, ill send it back.
