Can anyone give me a concrete as to whether or not you have to have Trip1PogoStick installed for 3rd Party apps to appear on Springboard?!

I'm having problems with apps crashing now and again now that I've installed the latest alpha of SummerBoard.
I've heard some people say that they have skipped the pogo install, and just went ahead with SummerBoard.

I am on the verge of doing a restore to my iPod, and re-installing everyting. Just want to know if I HAVE to install pogo to get all the other apps on Springboard.

so you've got 3rd party apps on your Springboard yeah?

If so, then I'll go ahead and do a restore, and skip pogo

Thanks... That's what I wanted to know.

Guess I'll have to do a restore. Not really what I wanted to do, but I can't live with all the app crashes.

There goes another 2 hours at least!!

    Thanks guys.

Ok, I have a question then. I used touchfree5.exe and then I manually installed the fixes to get summerboard working. I don't recall installing anything to do with pogpstick. But... when I go into the installer, under "uninstall" I see "Trip1PogoStick" Version 2.0-1. I also have summerboard installed. I have never had a problem with apps crashing and everything seems to work well. Should I uninstall pogostick? Or should I leave it alone seeing as that all is well?

    Rwad,

I see the same thing. If you used touchfree then Trip1Pogostick is installed as part of the jailbreak, along with summerboard. I only see crashes when battery is under 20%, very weird.

I want to update summerboad and uninstall Trip1Pogostick but am cautious of doing so.

There is a touchfree beta that jailbreaks without Trip1Pogostick, might have to do that if all goes wrong.
