    Hi guys!

Was wondering if someone could help me....

Something leaked on my ipod touch whilst it was in my drawer and some of the liquid was visible through the screen, so I tried to remove the screen, to dry it off, and this happened...

The glass screen is cracked, and the wire coming off it is also snapped!

The plastic trim has snapped, although the home button still fits in place without it!

Before I tried to fix it, the screen only displayed an apple, or asked me to sync it with my computer, however it came up as unrecognised.

It is now no longer switching on!

    Any ideas?

Put it back together and bring it to the nearest apple store. then *drop* it on the ground. when it breaks blame the apple rep.

if it wasn't jailbroken then send it in and say the battery leaked and the liquid inside f***ed everything up

I don't think it got too wet, so it's in a bag of rice just now to dry it out!

Should it turn on if it's missing the screen?

Would a replacement screen solve the problem?

It looks like you have killed the digitiser. thats the touch screen part of the unit. will it still turn on and is the screen ok ? If the display is still ok you sould be able to pick up a new digitiser off ebay if you have not cut/damaged the ribbon cable that connects the touch screen to the ipod.

A spudger would've done been a good idea. A better idea is you not taking it apart.
