Is there a mod or tweak that doesn't use mobile substrate to make the lockclock text transparent?

    LockscreenClockHide uses mobile substrate.

It's best to use Lockscreen clock hide. I remember finding an invisible lockclock font, which worked with FontSwap, but the date was still visible and the UILCDBackground was still there, so it was kind of annoying. I just ended up using Lockscreen Clock Hide.

Mobile Subtrate does not use any battery.

It simply replaces code. It tells the iPhone to do something the package says to do in place of the original code.
