Is there a spot, or can someone help, with transferring (or copying) pictures from my desktop PC to my new itouch?

You can sync them, put them in a pics folder and sync on itunes, or ssh them

Anyway, my answer is also the same as his, and to make it easier for viewing, I'm gonna list the steps in list form:
    1. Create a folder in "Pictures" (I'm assuming you're using a Windows PC, Dogtrac)
    2. Save your pix in the said folder.
    3. Connect your iPod to the PC and sync using iTunes.
    4. "DEVICES" then appears in the left taskbar, click on your iPod's name (e.g. mine is "touch_iPod 16GB").
    5. The "Summary" page appears and you click on the "Photos" tab.
    6. Select the folder where you've saved your pictures (under "Folders") and press the sync button.
    7. Voila, everything will then be transferred to your iPod!

    Hope that helps!

Or you could just SSH them over.

I'll say it again. The iTouch vs iPod Touch non-issue has been discussed here. They are the same thing. Take your trolling somewhere else, you fail troll.
