Okay so I bought my itouch from another person and it has tons of applications on it. I opened my Itunes and I don't know how to transfer the existing applications on my itunes.

I clicked syncing and itunes threatened me to erase all my files so I quickly clicked cancel. About browsing google, I found out that the solution is this Transfer Purchases.

I tried ticking the transfer purchases and I AUTHORIZED MY COMPUTER and it shows that it is transferring applications but for only just a second then the apple logo will be there again as if nothing happened.

u need to authorize the computer with the same account that the apps were purchased from or else they will be deleted. NO way out of this except for illegal terms.

So I wouldn't be able to transfer it because the person I bought it from is from planet XYZ?

And what is the "Illegal? way of transferring it? I really love the apps existing on this touch. It would break my heart to see it vanish in my own hands.

The reason you can't transfer it is because the files, even though they're on the iPod, are linked to the OTHER person's iTunes account. If you want to sync it to your computer, then you'll have to link the iPod to your iTunes account... which means wiping everything on the iPod. Even if you got the files off, they're no good to you since to sync them onto the iPod again after it's linked to your account, you have to have them linked to YOUR iTunes account. Aka: they have to have been purchased BY your iTunes account, if you want to use the software already on the iPod.
