    Transfer of Music - New Comp [Solved]

    Thanks to hellrider:
    File-->Library-->Consolidate Library
    in iTunes 8
    Advanced-->Consolidate Library
    in Previous Versions.

    Well, we have 3 iPods that focus around this new comp. My Touch, iPod 5g, and a Nano 3g.

    Here is the Situation.
    *The iPod 5g has all the music.
    1) I hooked the iPod 5g to the comp and then, as it is a Hard Drive, went through the tedious task of dragging and dropping the music/vids in the 49 folders to a new folder, titled Music on the desktop.
    2) I dragged and drop into iTunes 8.
    3) Then I noticed that some of my changes previous to the music on my Own Playlist was missing, album art, lyrics, etc, so I decided to "look" for programs to fix this.
    -TuneAid (iPod to Itunes [Touch compatible])
    -FixTunes (Fix Info)
    -iArt (Automatically find/add Lyrics and Album Art)
    4) I then used TuneAid to get my playlists and all that in place for each iPod. I assumed since it was direct transfer to iTunes, it was placed on my comp (OS - Vista) here
    User\x6blues\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
    5) I then used the other programs to get Info, Art, etc fixed/added.

    My problem is that I have these folders with the of music, 14 gigs, while iTunes Music is this mess with certain artists missing and all that.
    My interpretation of iTunes Music has been to store the actual music, so why it has these blank folders and all this mess is a mystery to me.

    What I'm trying to do is to have all my Music in iTunes Music, hell is that even possible, or one constant directory, one folder. What I don't need is it scattered >_>

    Also while doing this, I don't need it to have that god forsaken "Exclamation Mark" next to my music telling me to find every song which is thousands.

    So let's recap

    Problem

    • Music is scattered among folders. One iTunes Music, other Music folder.
    • Songs added via TuneAid and drag and drop methods of adding the music.
    • No Single Place for Music
    • If any folders tampered with, gray Exclamation Mark telling me to Manually find music
    Solution (Hopeful)

    • All music in a constant folder, without redunadant, extraneous folders.
    • Solution excluding me having to find every single bit of music.
    Any help greatly, greatly, appreciated

    Try consolidating your library. It should be somewhere under Advanced in the iTunes Menu. This will copy all music into iTunes Music, and then you can delete all music files NOT in Itunes Music. I went through a similiar situation and the worst that came out of it was that I had duplicates of a few songs.

    Very Nice, everything seems to be working now.
    I need to brush up on my iTunes xD

    To everyone having this problem, go under
    File-->Library-->Consolidate Library
    in iTunes 8.

    @Hellrider, thank you very, very much kind sir. I'm extremely grateful.
