I'm in a pickle. I'm at the point where i could build a respectable gaming computer or upgrade a computer we have now. Two options: Build a computer (PII x3 720, 4gb DDR2 800, ATI 4770 512mb) for $830 and it be completely and totally mine or upgrade our family computer (final specs would be Q6600, 3gb DDR2 800, ATI 4770 512mb) for $200 but has horrible airflow and i'd have to build another (and possibly a better one?) when i go off to college in a few years. If I choose option two i'd have a ton of money left over for games, drum stuff, etc. I think i know what i'm gonna do but what do yall think?

Build a new one. You will have your own PC. No sharing with parents / siblings.
