I have an ipod touch 2G with software 3.1.2 and have a problem.. The very left side of my screen is unresponsive, meaning I can't type 1 or Q which is REALLY annoying...

I installed extended /advanced prefs but can't find any settings for the touch screen, is there anything or any hack out there to make the 'touch' a little off centered so the very left side is reachable??

I'd try a restore but it sounds like a hardware fault, take it back?

Could you edit the keyboard strings to switch 1 or Q with something a little less important? I have no idea how the keyboard works, so not sure if its even possible. Best bet is to restore and claim under warranty if its still covered.

jailbreak, restore or whatever you do is useless... it's the touch screen sensitives that are over... take it back to apple

I'd restore then take it back.
