In the last few days my 2g Ipod Touch 32gb has refused to charge or sync when connected to my pc, which is running Windows 7. When I connect the same USB lead to my external charger it charges fine. I've tried restore mode, but the pc still won't recognize it.
Any ideas before I try a new USB lead?

Yes, the USB ports are all fine. I'll have to buy a new lead then.

Well, my brother had the same problem with his 3GS and he couldn't charge or sync it. However, he had 3 sync cables and none of them worked. He sent it back to Apple and they had to replace the whole motherboard...

Could be the wire or it could be your touch

Yeah but if its working with the external power cable it shows that its charging. Might be the computer not having enough power to charge it but it dosnt seem right.

It's strange. It's been fine until a couple of days ago. I've tried all 6 ports on the computer and none work.

Yeah maybe it's your computer, try it on another one or get an adapter to plug it into a power socket.

Well, it turned out to be the data cable in the end. It's fine again now. Thanks for the replies.
