HI Guys, New to the forum etc etc

Yesterday my one year old boy threw my Ipod touch 1st generation down the toilet, its rubber ducked. I have given up trying to sort it, and my wife has kindly bought me a new Ipod touch second generation. She's lovely like that, my question is, can i just get it to transfer everything i had from my old one into my new one or do i have to do it all manually? As it regurlarly backs my old one up can i just put it on the new one?
Is there anything else you guys would recommend me doing as i am changing from the 1st to second?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice

    JD

You should be able to sync back all of your apps, music, videos etc. via iTunes once you have registered your new device in iTunes.

As for your old one, it's gone... Impossible to revive heavily water damaged devices especially if you have tried to power them on after they've been immersed in water without properly drying it out first.

You should be able to "Restore from Backup"; once you restore or plug in your iPod, it will prompt you to restore from a backup file. This will bring back all settings and preferences for Mail, Safari, etc...

    You certainly are lucky!

It will only restore the settings, not the songs, videos and etc..

Restore from backup WILL do the trick.i've done it after restoring my ipod to get everything back on it. Hopefully u backed it up though;does it automatically but you might have cancelled out of it.
