    Don't use iTunes 7.6

    iTunes 7.5 and 7.4.2 works.

    ok, but...

I've been having this problem for a while now... like 2 weeks, over 2 or 3 restores, and i already downgraded to 7.5, followed every jailbreak guide, as well as iPodTouchMaster's videos, and the only way around it that I have been able to find is to use my gf's pc (running XP) to jailbreak.

If anyone has a way around this... please let me know, cuz this problem won't go away, and I just had 1.1.3, now it won't let me get back to 1.1.2, >.<

    Running:
    Mac Mini Intel Core Duo
    Mac OS X 10.4
    iTunes 7.5 (Downgraded)

Fluent in all *nix processes, so I'll understand anything, lol.

well... yeah, that's kinda obvious, cuz a .bak is a windows-only file-type. This isn't my first time jailbreaking, lol

I've had my touch since the 2nd week after release, and jailbroken it easily over 20 or more times out of pure bordom, xP
