I use a PC and with the old ipods, I could access them as hard drives from My computer. With the ipod Touch i can't do that. How do i access the files on my ipod through my computer?

The old iPods were more like external hard drives, and you could access them using a simple disk mode. The iPhone and iPod Touch however are more like portable computers, and you need to access them as such. If you jailbreak, you can access via SSH (using an SFTP browser for example), you can install AFPd and access via Apple File Protocol (on Mac), you can install Samba and access via My Network Places, you can install DiskCopy and access via drag & drop (Mac only), etc... there are many ways if you look around...
