Ok. So my cousin today got the new 8 gig ipod touch 3rd gen for $199. The new Touch has built in wifi correct? I have the 2nd gen touch. For the live of me, i could not figure out how the built in wifi works?? We still have not figured it out! What do we have to do to get the built in wifi to work? Or do we not have the 3rd gen Touch? Thanks a lot guys!!

Isnt the 8GB 3rd Gen the same as the 2nd?

Also u need a wireless connection around then just turn it on and enter a pw ( if required) and wifi should work.

I'm sorry, but do you even know what wifi is?

    THEY ALL HAVE WIFI

however, the 8gig is NOT, yes I repeat NOT a third generation, apple is very misleading to people on that one

Every iPod Touch and iPhone model has built in WiFi. Settings can be modified by tapping settings > Wi-Fi.

This really isn't rocket science :/

did 3.1 fix the wifi issues? after 3.0 I had to mess with my channels on my router and practically cuddle with it to hold a connection.

I haven't personally noticed any WiFi issues in the 2nd/3rd gen iPod Touch at 3.x, so I can't say

What i mean by built is wifi is you would have wifi where ever you go. No matter where you are you have wifi. Like now with my 2nd gen Touch, you have to be somewhere that has wfi available like your house or Starbucks. When my cousin and i were viewing the new 3rd gen Touch on the Apple store, it says the 3rd gen has "built in wifi"

They all have WiFi WiFi is an atenna that connects to 802.11 networks. What you want is a 3G connection. That's the iPhone 3G / 3Gs
