    Hi,

I bought a 1G with 1.1.4 that was jailbroken. I didn't think I really needed a jailbroken Touch for my uses and didn't want to downgrade iTunes, so I upgraded to (revirginized) 1.1.5 via iTunes. I lost some apps in the process, and I wasn't able to rearrange icons anymore. I did want Maps etc., so I upgraded to 2.2.1 via the legal route with iTunes. The upgrade failed, and I used iTunes to restore the Touch. After that upgrade and restore process, the Touch 1G hangs with the iTunes connect icon.

Please help me in restoring my Touch to work, preferably as a revirginized 2.2.1, but whatever works.

    Thanks,

    Gernot

Put it in DFU mode (search for that) and then restore from there.
