Ok you guys, I just got word that a FTP program called Total Commander can be configured to FTP to the iPod Touch without the use of SSH! I personally am not going to try it, because I don't wanna f*** something up, so.. Lol, I rather someone else that knows what they're doing and report back to this thread for updates or PM me..

ive tryed it on my 1.1.1 jailbroken iPoT without ssh turned on and it works great, you dont even have to change the permissions. just last night i put the extended preferences on my iPoT with it and no problems.

dude, i used it to access the files on my 1.1.3 ipod, but there is no applications folder or anything in the / part of the ipod. all that stuff is read protected, meaning me would have to change the permissions to 755 somehow. anyone know of a command for that to use in iphuc??
