I've tried lots of the popular skins now, like Illumine, Soda, Matte Nano, Deep, Teneo and so on, and the top bar showed in the example never gets skinned. It's stays original. I know how to change to fonts, that's not what I'm asking about, it's the textures and that that doesn't change. They stay original. How do I fix this? I've changed media player also, so that's not the thing.

Second question: How do I remove the unlock text at the lockscreen?

    Thanks in advance.

    This is how I mean

It's called UINavigationBar, turn off the WinterBoard theme that turns it Black if you have it on. At the LockScreen, change "LOCK_UNLOCK_TEXT : slide to unlock" in SpringBoard.app > Contents > Resources > English.iproj > SpringBoard.strings > "LOCK_UNLOCK_TEXT : ".

The Black Navigation Bar is not activated, but it's still original. UINavigationBar I can't find anywhere. I really don't get this.

And I don't have Springboard I think? Should I install this? Isn't that for iPhone?

All iPhods have it. It's in /System/Library/CoreServices/. It's the main interface.

And I think UINavigationBar is part of UIImages? Can't remember.

Thanks, I found the file, but how do you mean I shall edit the ".strings" file? To get rid of the unlock text.

And UIImages? I don't understand how to make it get skinned with the rest of the theme.

    Excuse my stupidity

Download Slide To Unlock Killer from Cydia to remove slider text.

There's nothing under that name, I can't find it when I search anyway. Anyway I downloaded Tab to Unlock Slider or what it was called, and that didn't do it.

Seems risky? That file is 23 byes while the original file is 24 Kb.

I'm obviously stupid since I've probably got the two right answers for both problems, but I haven't solved it.

I need newbie explanations, I guess.

The top bar only changes with the LEA theme that I found on Cydia. None of the popular themes that I can see on prints work in this area. Like the ones I've mentioned.

I don't understand this. I don't have anything in Winterwoard that turns it black. I've got "Black Navigation Bars" but it looks the same with or without this function.

If you already have a Springboard.strings file in your theme just right click>edit it and add the text from the file i gave you ie:

    "AWAY_LOCK_LABEL" = "";

add this line to your file OR edit the line in your file to read like this

this will remove the "slide to unlock" text

whatever you type between the "" after the = will appear as your unlock text
