So, I currently own the ipod touch 1g. I could sell it for 180 bucks and buy the new version. My parents are telling me not to do that. I have already found a buyer. So the question is: should I sell it and buy the 2G or stay with 1G ...

Yeah the firmware costs. I've also thought about the speakers and the bluetooth possibility. It's definately the best choice to sell the 1G, but I'm hoping not to regret doing this in a near future. More opinions plz

Well if steve jobs is still on that health break. Then a 3G Won't be along soon. And Unlikely will there be a jailbreak for it. As Apple is Really trying hard to stop it. They're gonna try extra hard to stop the 3G From being jailbroken. And you can buy a 2G now. Slowly put some money aside. so when the 3G Comes out you could get it

Just my 2cents, but I would stay with the 1G because you are or can be fully JB! With the 1G the updated do not cost not to cut toes off here, and you have so many options with the 1G and with the 2G you only get tethered or semi-tethered and the speakers are o.k but who really cares about external speakers and the wifi is not any faster than the 1G because I used my nieces 2G and compared it to my 1G and no difference. Some say the processor in the 2G is better but who knows for sure, but anyway I like the 1G no matter what and if you want to know more things you can do with the 1G PM me!
I agree with Kenbrio though, put the money aside and wait for the 4G iPod touch and if you what to read more on that go to Gizmomo.com

I think it's possible to make the 2G untethered as it says on front page..

I don't know why, even though there is an untethered jb now, and the 2G has the speakers, faster processor, volume buttons, etc. I still don't really want it!
I don't know why..! I'm think used to it!
