if u are having this error it is becuz u r putting ur iPot/iPhone on restore instead of DFU mode wen restoring custome firmware put ur iPod on DFU mode. I got error 6 wen I put my ipot on restore
    Instead of DFU.

Well, anyone who gets this error obviously doesn't know how to read.
I thought by now everyone would recognize this as an error only given by restore mode.
I'm pretty sure that every program states you must be in DFU mode anyways, just to be safe.
You can technically restore to a custom firmware from a pwned 1.1.4 device because the check is already patched, but to simplify things, they just say to be in DFU mode.

The screen is suppose to appear blank and if done correctly, ur computer detects new hardware. Thats how u know wen ur ipot is on DFU mode

The restore mode is the one everyone tells you to use (with iTunes icon etc. at the end) while DFU mode works this way:

    1. Connect iPhone to Mac/PC - keep iTunes open
    2. hold down power and home button
    3. wait until red slider appears to shut down iPhone, keep holding down the buttons, count 4-5 seconds (while iPhone shuts down)
    4. release power-button, keep home button pressed (there should be no Apple logo! If it appears, you waited too long to release the powerbutton - try again )
    5. wait 5-10 seconds - iTunes should then prompt that there's an iPhone connected in "restore mode" - but it's different!
