I've been searching the forums for a while and I can't find if someone has asked this yet but here goes.

sorry if its been posted already but just curious.

I have an iTouch and my buddy has the ist gen iphone. I want the 3g iphone as an IPOD WITH A CAMERA, don't ask me why i just do. anyway so I was wondering if I bring him to an apple store and give him the money to buy a new iphone could he activate it there, then go home and reactivate his old one and i just use the 3g as an Ipod.

i wonder if that will work cause he already has an At&t contract so should it still cost 199 or 299 whatever it was?

lol, you're nuts. Just buy a camera because doing this is VERY illegal and you could be charged with fraud.

no because your friend will need to sign up for a new 2 year agreement which i dont think hell want to do. you could easily use a old iphone instead

Yeah...just but a used iphone off ebay or craigslist. There may be a camera for the touch coming in the future (maybe...)
