Are you getting "an unknown error occurred (1)" when trying to downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1?

The problem may lie in your timing.

    1. Get your iPod to connect with iTunes in it's normal mode (not the DFU mode or whatever)
    2. Press and hold both the home button and sleep button simultaneously
    3. Let go of the power button AS SOON AS THE iPod disappears from iTunes. Continue holding the home button
    4. Let go of the home button AS SOON AS THE iPod reappears in iTunes
    5. Option click restore
    6. Select your 1.1.1 ipsw
    7. ???
    8. PROFIT!!!

Seriously. Time it right and you're good to go.

I don't know why people keep doing the "hold both button release one...." thing to restore to 1.1.1,

I have restored t back to 1.1.1 about 5 times the last few days to test the different jailbreaks and all i did was option click the restore button and choose 1.1.1 restore nothing more...

    Uh...

You don't need to time it if you know how to enter recovery mode correctly...

    1. Turn the iPod off

    2. Hold the home button and connect the iPod cable

    3. Keep holding the home button until it goes into recovery mode.

I even have a video on youtube. OZombieKillerO.

You dont even have to do it anyways! Just upgrade you iTunes to 7.4 or higher.
