    This really bugs me.
The names for sub-categories are no only inconsistent, they're long and unwieldy.

    Look at this:
    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    Nintendo NES Emulator (iPhone NES)
    Playstation 1 (PSX) Emulator (psx4iphone)
    Nintendo SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
ScummVM for iPod touch and iPhone

First of all, "for iPod Touch and iPhone" is totally unnecessary.
I propose that we take it out all together.

    This leaves us with this:
    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    Nintendo NES Emulator (NES)
    Playstation 1 (PSX) Emulator (psx4iphone)
    Nintendo SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
    ScummVM

    Better.
    Next, look at this:
    Nintendo NES Emulator (NES)

"Nintendo Nintendo Entertainment System Emulator (Nintendo Entertainment System)"
Now, I'm not one to swear, but WHAT. THE. f***.
    This is so redundant.
How about cutting it down to:
    "NES Emulator"
    Ahh, much better.

    Here we are:
    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    NES Emulator
    Playstation 1 (PSX) Emulator (psx4iphone)
    Nintendo SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
    ScummVM

Let's do the same for SNES. The brand isn't necessary, but it's okay to have the Emulator name.

    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    NES Emulator
    Playstation 1 (PSX) Emulator (psx4iphone)
    SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
    ScummVM

    Finally, PSX4iPhone.
We can just cut out the "1 (PSX)" part.
    Playstation is Playstation.

    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    NES Emulator
    Playstation Emulator (psx4iphone)
    SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
    ScummVM

Now let's just fix ScummVM to match the rest.
    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    NES Emulator
    Playstation Emulator (psx4iphone)
    SNES Emulator (snes4iphone)
    Scumm Emulator (ScumVM)

    A couple more things.
We don't abbreviate for anything but NES and SNES.
Let's just switch those to "Nintendo" and "Super Nintendo."

    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    Nintendo Emulator
    Playstation Emulator (psx4iphone)
    Super Nintendo Emulator (snes4iphone)
    Scumm Emulator (ScumVM)

    A little rearranging...

    Gameboy Advance emulator (gpSPhone)
    Playstation Emulator (psx4iphone)
    Nintendo Emulator
    Super Nintendo Emulator (snes4iphone)
    Scumm Emulator (ScumVM)

    Voilá.
    How bout a change, mods?

The reason that the acronyms are included is probably for people that don't know them, so they won't be completely lost when they are used.

If your technologically savvy enough to want to jailbreak your iPod touch I'm pretty sure you'd know what a Super Nintendo is too...

I think after Nintendo emulator, there needs to be a (NES) just to be consistent. I don't know, everything just feels off when the one right in the middle is so much shorter and different.

Also, I think it should be somewhat in Chronological order. Like

    NES
    SCUMM
    SNES
    PSX
    GBA

I'm not sure if that's exactly right, but it seems a tad better

You'd be suprised. I'm sure not everybody knows all of the acronyms.

    No, not really.

You could just add the acronyms in there somewhere too.
Anything is better than what we've got right now.

Exactly. How many "Wats SDK?" threads have you seen?
    Lots.
